SAP ABAP Developer

Overview

We’re looking for a skilled SAP ABAP Developer to contribute to the design, development, and support of high-quality SAP solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in custom development across SAP modules and a strong understanding of both classic and modern ABAP practices, including integration with S/4HANA and Fiori/UI5.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement custom SAP solutions using ABAP (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows).

• Analyze functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications and robust ABAP programs.

• Deliver enhancements, user exits, BADIs, BAPIs, and other customizations in line with project and operational requirements.

• Support SAP modules (such as MM, SD, FI, HR, etc.) with tailored ABAP development and debugging.

• Collaborate closely with functional consultants, business analysts, and other developers to ensure alignment and quality delivery.

• Develop and consume OData services for Fiori/UI5 applications.

• Optimize existing code and support performance tuning initiatives.

• Ensure documentation, transport management, and testing processes are followed according to SAP standards.

• Provide ongoing support for implemented SAP solutions, including root-cause analysis and issue resolution.

• Stay updated with ABAP best practices, S/4HANA enhancements, and modern development frameworks.

Minimum Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a SAP ABAP Developer, including custom objects and enhancements.

• Solid understanding of SAP data dictionary, reports (ALV), BAPIs, BDC, SmartForms, Adobe Forms, and SAP Scripts.

• Experience working in an S/4HANA environment, including knowledge of CDS views and AMDP (advantageous).

• Experience with REST/OData services and integrating ABAP with Fiori/UI5 (highly beneficial).

• Exposure to object-oriented ABAP and clean core principles.

• Familiar with debugging techniques and performance tuning tools.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies or working in a DevOps SAP landscape.

• Knowledge of SAP Business Workflow or BRF+.

• Prior experience in SAP S/4HANA migrations or greenfield implementations.

• Familiarity with integration technologies (e.g., PI/PO, CPI).
