About the Client

Our client is a well-established wholesale organisation operating in the fast-paced retail supply chain sector. Rather than operating as a traditional retail franchise, the business services independent retail stores, offering procurement, distribution, and technology support to a broad network of independent outlets.

The organisation is currently undergoing a significant SAP S/4HANA upgrade, and this role will play a key part in delivering project success, particularly within the inbound logistics and buying streams.

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned SAP Project Manager with proven experience managing SAP initiatives within the retail or wholesale supply chain space. The focus of this role will be on Inbound Logistics, Procurement, and Buying, supporting the successful delivery of SAP projects from initiation through to implementation.

This role will require a strong presence either on-site in KwaZulu-Natal or through regular travel to key Distribution Centres (DCs).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of SAP projects, with a focus on Inbound Logistics and Buying processes

• Coordinate cross-functional teams (business, technical, SAP consultants, vendors) to deliver project milestones

• Align project delivery with the ongoing SAP S/4HANA rollout strategy

• Drive project governance, risk management, and stakeholder communication

• Ensure alignment of system processes to business requirements within inbound supply chain operations

• Oversee UAT, change management, and end-user training in collaboration with functional leads

• Track and report on project progress, budget, and resource planning

Key Requirements

• 8+ years of SAP Project Management experience

• Strong exposure to SAP Inbound Logistics, Procurement, and Buying modules

• Prior involvement in SAP S/4HANA upgrades or greenfield implementations

• Experience within retail, wholesale, or FMCG sectors is highly advantageous

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and vendor management capabilities

• Ability to work on-site or travel frequently to KwaZulu-Natal and associated DCs

• Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is preferred
