Job Description: Senior Project Manager – Retail Value Added Services (VAS)
Client: Leading Retail Business
Location: Cape Town
Type: 12-Month Contract
Start Date: Immediate
Rate Band: R650 – R700
Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with 1-hour lunch break (non-chargeable); Core hours 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Hybrid Working: 3 days on-site, with flexibility to adapt based on project demands
Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for delivering multiple concurrent Value Added Services (VAS) projects within the VAS business unit, aligning with the FY25 roadmap. The projects will focus on Financial services (various tenders, deposit, and withdrawal solutions) and Cellular services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the planning, execution, and delivery of VAS projects to meet business objectives and timelines.
- Coordinating and managing project teams, including internal stakeholders and third-party vendors.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Developing detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Monitoring and reporting project progress to the Programme Manager.
- Identifying and mitigating project risks and issues.
- Managing stakeholder communication and expectations.
- Adapting to project demands which may require more frequent on-site presence.
- Utilizing effective project management methodologies and tools.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in a retail environment.
- Strong background in delivering Value Added Services (VAS) projects, particularly in Financial and Cellular services.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Solid understanding of financial services (tenders, deposit, and withdrawal solutions) and cellular services.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing project demands and work schedules.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
- Own laptop for work purposes.
Reporting:
The Senior Project Manager will report directly to the Programme Manager.
