Lead Engineer – Melbourne

The Company

Salt is excited to have partnered with a leading Australian Tech company based in Melbourne who is currently seeking a Lead Engineer to join one of their innovative Software Engineering teams on a permanent basis.

Please note, this is a hybrid role based in Melbourne and all applicants must have full working rights in Australia to apply for this position.

The Role

The role will be 30% hands-on development and 70% leadership and as a hands-on Lead Engineer, you’ll manage a high performing team of Engineers and will play an integral role in shaping the future technical strategy of the product, will be responsible for leading the design and development of the application, promoting engineering excellence and best practices, as well as provide guidance and mentorship to the team.

Key Skills and Competencies

The successful Lead Engineer should have the following skill set:

• Hands-on and experience in leading Software Engineering teams
• In depth experience working across Backend and Frontend technologies
• Extensive experience with various technologies including Ruby on Rails, Node.js or TypeScript and React.js
• Experience in developing micro services architectures
• Hands-on experience working with Relational Databases (PostgreSQL)
• Strong knowledge working with various AWS services
• Experienced in Solution Design and Architecture
• Experience working in an Agile
• Full working rights in Australia
