Our client is an innovative new player on the Australian Financial Market, priding themselves on pioneering the small business lending space, specialising in cash flow solutions for SMEs. The Sydney-based bank plans to offer new ways for SMEs to reap the rewards of a next-generation, customer-centric banking organisation that will help to grow their businesses.

Overview

The focus of the engineering team will be on configuring off-the-shelf, software as a service (SaaS) solutions. The DevOps team is essential in delivering the technology platform within scope of deadlines, whilst adhering to the business requirements and aligned to the finance industry and regulator’s standards. The DevOps Engineer supports the delivery of multiple technology solutions, managing the change and release upgrades, facilitating system integration as well as monitor and support system performance. This role is a permanent ongoing role and joins a growing organisation with a great culture.

Responsibilities

· Develop solutions across build engineering, cloud migrations, containerisation and configuration management practices

· Complete deliverables for system configuration and build as agreed with internal and external teams

· Collaborate internally and with third party providers to ensure tasks are completed in synergy

· Own the build and implementation of specific software solutions where applicable

· Lead or contribute to the design of the solutions in consultation with the IT and customer teams

· Work closely with the DevOps, internal and external project teams to support multiple implementations at any one time

· Ensure all components are built to provide quality, security, scalability, stability, efficiency and reliability

Requirements

· 6+ years’ experience in an engineering role

· Tertiary qualifications in a technology-related field

· Troubleshooting skills with an ability to explore options to resolve problems as they arise

· Excellent relationship management skills, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to achieve great results

· Mentor and coach colleagues within the technology team

Technical Skills

· Extensive experience in using cloud providers, in particular AWS

· Kubernetes clusters and service meshes (eg. Istio, AppMesh)

· Kafka

· CI/CD pipelines (BitBucket pipelines, ArgoCD, Spinnaker)

· Java development (JDK 8+). Knowledge of Java frameworks (Spring, Quarkus).

· Building Docker Containers

· Infrastructure automation using Terraform, Cloud Formation

· APM (Application Performance Monitoring) systems

· SAP Core Banking platforms/Integrations

· Other opensource platforms.
