Windows Active Directory and VMware Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior Engineer to join their high performing team on a fixed term contract. This role will be entirely remote and will therefore require someone who is confident working autonomously. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in Active Directory related tasks and will be well versed with Windows platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement end-to-end integrated systems based on MS Hyper-V, Microsoft Server 2008 – 2029, as well as VMware ESXi and OpenStack environments
• Design, implement andinstall configuration of Certificates for Windows platform
• Undertake preventative and corrective maintenance as necessary to maintain highly available infrastructures, workflows and systems
• Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts, and recommend new technologies & solutions that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
• Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with end-users and senior management to define business requirements for complex existing & new systems integrations
• Maintain high-level designs and detailed low-level documentation and drawings as required to address growth and maintenance activities in support of operations teams
• Provide users and clients with professional, courteous, and timely technical support

Qualifications:

• Expert knowledge and experience supporting a large Active Directory infrastructure including design and ongoing operations and maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve Active Directory, Group Policy, Kerberos, DNS, DHCP and other related issues.
• Expert level VMware experience with certifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server systems (2012+).
• Ability to create and utilize Powershell scripts to manage Active Directory and Microsoft Server systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 2016 or Microsoft Office365
• Should have a Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or computer information systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
• Highly self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Proven problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a team environment both locally and virtually.
