Workday Functional Architect

Salt has partnered with a leader in Victorian tertiary education, seeking a highly skilled Workday Functional Architect to support and enhance the Workday Finance and Adaptive Planning applications.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with expertise in finance systems, business process analysis, and technical problem-solving. In this role, you will be a subject matter expert in Workday financial applications and integration, primarily working across Workday Adaptive Planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide subject matter expertise, maintain configurations, and support integrations, business processes, and master data across applications.
• Work closely with business process owners to translate functional requirements into technical solutions while ensuring alignment with organisational strategies.
• Manage UAT, security testing, and integration cases, ensuring compliance with data security policies and stakeholder approvals.
• Develop job aids, training materials, and reports to enhance user knowledge and streamline Workday Finance processes.
• Support bi-annual Workday releases, drive process improvements, provide out-of-hours support when needed, and stay updated on new functionalities.

Key Requirements:

• Extensive experience in supporting Workday applications, translating business requirements into effective functional designs, and ensuring seamless integration with financial processes.
• Strong experience in Workday Adaptive Planning.
• Strong conceptual thinking, numerical skills, and the ability to analyze complex data to drive informed decisions and resolve issues efficiently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear technical documentation and collaborate with stakeholders.
• In-depth understanding of finance operations, Workday Finance functionality, the Workday Foundational Data Model, and its integration with other systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in finance functional support or systems consulting.
• Hands-on experience as a Workday functional consultant or configurator.
