Purpose of the Role
To improve organic discoverability and ranking across app stores and search engines by implementing and optimizing hands-on ASO (App Store Optimization) and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategies.
Key Responsibilities & Metrics
- App Store Optimization (ASO) – Optimize app titles, descriptions, keywords, and visuals across iOS and Android stores.
- Metric: Ranking improvement for target keywords | Increase in organic app installs
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – Conduct keyword research, on-page optimization, backlink strategy, and technical audits.
- Metric: Organic website traffic growth | SERP ranking improvements
- Content Optimization – Collaborate with content and web teams to align SEO/ASO strategies with published materials.
- Metric: Keyword-rich content delivery | Improved page engagement and time on site
- Performance Tracking & Analytics – Monitor and report on rankings, traffic, and install metrics using tools like Google Search Console, AppTweak, AppFigures, SensorTower, SEMrush, or others
- Metric: Weekly and monthly reports with actionable insights
- Competitor Benchmarking – Analyze competitors’ strategies in app stores and search engines.
- Metric: Weekly and monthly competitive review and performance comparison
- Experimentation & A/B Testing – Run experiments on app metadata, visuals, and website elements to drive performance.
- Metric: Improved conversion rates for installs or click-throughs
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of hands-on ASO and SEO experience
- Proven track record in growing organic traffic and installs
- Familiarity with ASO tools (AppTweak, SensorTower, etc.) and SEO platforms (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console)
- Experience working in mobile-first or app-focused environments
- Basic understanding of HTML, CMS platforms, and analytics tagging
