Azure Services Architect

The Azure Services Architect/Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud architectures on the Microsoft Azure platform. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud architecture styles and design patterns, proficiency in infrastructure as code tools, and experience with various Azure services and governance principles. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in deploying cloud-native applications and a strong background in enterprise integration technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud architectures on Azure.
• Utilize cloud architecture styles and design patterns to solve complex business problems.
• Develop hybrid cloud strategies and cloud migration methodologies.

• Proficiently use tools such as Terraform and ARM templates for efficient resource provisioning and management.
• Automate infrastructure deployment and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.

• Implement Azure Governance, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), cost management controls, and networking architectures.
• Ensure adherence to Azure governance principles and best practices.

• Manage Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Resource Groups, Virtual Networks, Azure Virtual Machines, and Azure Blob Storage.
• Utilize PowerShell DSC, Azure Automation, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Site Recovery for effective resource management.

• Design and implement Azure networking architectures, including virtual networks and VPN configurations.
• Ensure secure and reliable network connections between on-premises and Azure environments.

• Implement claims-based authentication standards (SAML/OAuth/OIDC), Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), and Role-based Access Control (RBAC).
• Ensure secure access to Azure resources and applications.

• Utilize Azure API Management, Logic Apps, and Service Bus for enterprise integration.
• Design and implement integration solutions to connect on-premises and cloud systems.

• Deploy and manage cloud-native applications using Azure PaaS capabilities such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), App Services Plans, Containers, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, and API Management.
• Ensure applications are scalable, resilient, and highly available.

• Set up monitoring and diagnostics for web applications on Azure.
• Utilize Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for performance monitoring and troubleshooting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer) are highly desirable.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture and design, specifically with Microsoft Azure.
• Proven experience in infrastructure as code, cloud governance, and resource management on Azure.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency with Azure Resource Manager, Virtual Networks, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Blob Storage, PowerShell DSC, Azure Automation, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Site Recovery.
• Strong knowledge of Azure networking, VPN configurations, and security best practices.
• Experience with claims-based authentication standards, MFA, and RBAC.
• Familiarity with enterprise integration technologies and Azure PaaS services.
