The Microsoft Data Governance Specialist will be responsible for defining, implementing, and managing the data governance framework across a group of companies. This role ensures data is handled in a consistent, secure, and compliant manner to support business decision-making processes. The specialist will work closely with various departments, including IT, compliance, legal, security, and privacy, to ensure data management practices align with both regional and regulatory requirements.
Define and Implement Data Governance Framework: Develop and roll out a comprehensive data governance strategy for the holding company and its subsidiaries, ensuring adherence to the established framework.
- Data Availability, Usability, Integrity, and Security: Manage the availability, usability, and integrity of data to ensure it meets the necessary security and governance standards.
- Develop Data Standards and Policies: Create and maintain data standards, policies, and procedures to control the appropriate use of data within the organization.
- Ensure Data Quality: Establish processes to ensure that data is consistent, trustworthy, and protected from misuse, driving a high level of data accuracy and integrity.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all regulatory requirements related to data management are met, including regional, national, and international standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
- Raise Awareness: Educate and train stakeholders across the organization on data governance policies and guidelines, promoting a culture of data stewardship.
- Data Governance Maturity: assess the organization’s data governance maturity and implement continuous improvements to enhance data management practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field;
- 8+ years’ experience in IT projects/services delivery related to data governance
- Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related role within a multi-company or group setting.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data lifecycle management, and data quality principles.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements for data management (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience working with data governance tools and technologies is a plus
Requirements:
- Microsoft business applications stack knowledge is a requirement
- AI technologies implementation experience is a plus
- UAE Industrial regulations and requirements knowledge is a plus
- Real Estate industry knowledge is a plus
- Hospitality industry knowledge is a plus
