I am engaged with a Big 4 Consultancy here in the Middle East who are looking for a Social Development Specialist to join them on an initial 12-month contract in Riyadh:

The successful candidate will support a national initiative aimed at strengthening the work of social development centers across the country. This is a unique secondment opportunity to contribute to impactful programs and initiatives that drive social progress and community well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a framework for designing programs to address social development priorities.
• Create a framework for oversight of nonprofit organizations and other entities regulated by the ministry.
• Assist in generating the first performance reports and drafting the annual operating plan.
• Provide expertise and insights related to social development, aligned with national and global goals.

Qualifications:

• Background in social or economic development or social studies.
• Experience working in Saudi Arabia and familiarity with its social landscape.
• Knowledge of social development issues (e.g., families, orphans, juveniles, women, people with disabilities, youth).
• Understanding of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their application to national initiatives.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Fluent Arabic speaker.
