QA Engineer (Manual Tester)

We are hiring QA Engineer for a Social Media client on a 6-month extendable contract role. The focus of the work will be based around manual testing and developing automation to verify functionality for our mobile and web apps.

Job Scope:

• Create detailed test plans and acceptance tests based on engineering descriptions of features focusing on both the expected outcome and failure cases.
• Perform manual regression and feature testing for release candidate builds for both mobile client, web server and backend builds.
• Review bugs and ensure they are adequately retested when fixed.
• Log detailed bugs and provide reproduction steps (expected vs actual outcome).
• Collect and report test results for all builds.
• Periodically monitor the mobile and web apps’ health.
• Conduct investigations when needed.
• Generate weekly operational reports for the team.
• Triage customer-reported issues and help ensure the overall system health from the functional, operational, and data perspectives.

Qualification:

• Mandatory3+ years of experience in manual QA for mobile devices (Android and iOS) and web applications.
• Experience creating and executing test plans. Experience working with engineers, product managers and program/project managers.
• Experience with bug tracking software.
• Experience making sense of logs, traces, crash reports, etc. to help narrow down possible root causes.
• Experience with DB query languages (eg. SQL)
