Position: Group Financial Accountant

About the Company:

A rapidly growing Global Insurtech Business is in search of a talented Chartered Accountant (CA, SA) to join their finance team. Operating in five countries, the company is at the forefront of delivering innovative insurance solutions.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Newly qualified CA(SA) with 1-3 years post-article experience
• Insurance/financial services audit client experience is beneficial
• Commercial and entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and technology

Responsibilities:

As the Group Financial Accountant, the selected candidate will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and play a pivotal role in:

Accounting:

• Ensuring meticulous recording of entries, aligning with accounting standards
• Implementing financial systems and best practices continuously
• Collaborating on annual budgeting, financial statement preparation, and tax structuring
• Managing relationships with in-country accounting firms across the group
• Preparing monthly and annual group consolidations

Reporting:

• Ensuring compliance with financial and insurance regulatory requirements
• Supporting the CFO on regulatory and tax reporting
• Responding to financial inquiries through data analysis and interpretation
• Monthly reporting to white-label and distribution partners
• Reporting on insurance KPIs, including loss ratios, acquisition costs, retention rates, and customer sales
• Monthly management reporting and preparing presentations for the Board and Shareholders
• Providing detailed explanations on reconciled items, specifically related to insurance policy administration, banking, and accounting systems

Experience & Skills:

• Newly qualified CA(SA) with 1-3 years post-article experience
• Insurance/financial services audit client experience is beneficial
• Commercial and entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and technology

Working Hours:

• Flexible working hours: 8 am to 5 pm or 9 am to 6 pm (Mon-Fri)
