Management Accountant

Our client is seeking a dynamic Management Accountant ready to grow into a Financial Manager role. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong management accounting skills and experience in financial processes, forecasting, job costing, and more.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and improve financial control and ERP systems to align with world-class standards.
• Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Review and analyze expense variances for company management.
• Develop sound costing models with manufacturing managers for optimal stock control.
• Work with servicing managers to develop all cost-inclusive models for appropriate recovery rates.
• Identify major cost drivers with the procurement department to aid effective price negotiations.
• Ensure accurate live stock control data with logistics and store management departments.
• Mentor finance and admin staff to achieve proper financial control through detailed SOPs.
• Oversee financial control of weekly and monthly payrolls.
• Develop budgeting and funding feasibility models.
• Assist the company in managing investments and foreign exchange purchases.
• Manage the finance administration department to meet stringent deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with accounting-related policies and procedures.
• Evaluate the company’s performance using key data and compile forecasts for business planning.
• Conduct risk assessments and advise on minimizing risks.
• Advise on challenges, suggest improvements, and provide solutions.
• Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Maintain SARS tax compliance and engage with external auditors for SARS deliverables.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a management accountant, accounting supervisor, or similar role.
• Solid knowledge of basic and advanced financial accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of cost accounting, risk analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proficiency in financial accounting, ERP, and MS Office software.
• Analytical mind with a strong aptitude in practical math.
• Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Fluent in English (fluency in Afrikaans is advantageous).
• Knowledge of tax and VAT regulations, including experience in submitting SARS VAT and EMP returns.
• High levels of Emotional Intelligence for a rapidly changing growth environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Requirement: BCom / BTech in Accounting or Management Accounting.
• Completed SAIPA/SAICA/CIMA articles are advantageous (or proof of being in progress).
• 5 years of post-qualification professional working experience.
