Head of Data Science – Pioneering Retailer in Cape Town

• Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
• Work Model: Hybrid (4 days in office)
• Salary: +/- R1.5 million per annum (experience dependent)

Are you an experienced leader in Data Science looking to drive innovation in a fast-paced retail environment? I’m partnering with a top-tier company seeking a Head of Data Science to lead a dynamic team in optimizing business outcomes through data-driven strategies.

This company thrives on creativity, collaboration, and strategic thinking. They prioritize a forward-thinking approach, where data science plays a crucial role in decision-making and customer engagement.

Key Requirements:

• A university degree in a relevant field (Commerce, Engineering, or a Numerical subject); Honours or Masters preferred.
• 8-10 years of experience in Advanced Analytics with at least 5-7 years in a senior management role.
• Proven expertise in leading data science teams and guiding the development of analytical models.
• Retail experience is a PLUS, along with strong stakeholder management and agile work practices.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business strategies.
• Hands on experience in working with Python, SQL, and AWS/Azure.
• Skills in Azure Studio and/or GenerativeAI is a big PLUS!
