Senior Corporate and Policy Communications Manager

Salt are excited to be partnering with this leading global tech brand and online marketplace that operate in the travel industry. This company is a household name and known as one of the best places to work.

We are sourcing an effective communications all-rounder who has their finger on the pulse with a strong network of journalist contacts, especially across the political, general news, and business media space.

What will you be doing?

• Manage reactive media requests to support the brands community and brand.
• Develop story pitches, messaging guidelines, Q&As, briefs, presentations, and speeches.
• Provide guidance and support to the local policy team on communications matters.
• Help prepare spokespeople for public speaking engagements, media interviews, product launches.
• Develop an executive thought leadership communications program for the local leadership team.
• Develop and manage relationships with key reporters across Australia and New Zealand.

What you’ll bring:

• Knowledge of public policy matters (especially relating to housing, tourism, technology, or the sharing economy.
• Experience crafting reactive statements and briefing journalists in complex regulatory issues.
• Proven experience working on creative communications initiatives that have generated awareness or solved an issue.
• Previous experience in journalism or public policy.

Contract Details:

• 12 months with the potential to go perm.
• Live anywhere, work anywhere policy (within Australia). Surry Hills based office
• The successful candidate must be well networked with journalists in Australia and particularly in Sydney.
