Summary:
The Network Systems Engineer helps design and delivers network solutions for high-availability multi-cloud infrastructure. The infrastructure consists of a national data network connecting private cloud, public cloud and cloud software services offered by Azure. The role ensures policies align with cyber-security framework to secure the infrastructure which supports real-time data, voice, video and the Energy Markets systems essential to run the energy markets.
Role and Responsibilities:
Produce the detailed network designs based on high level architecture designs and roadmaps.
Lead the Implementation of network designs and transition to operational standards.
Provide recommendations to integrate new technologies and equipment without impacting highly available systems, aligned to IT strategy, architecture roadmaps and security frameworks.
Maintain and extend in-depth technical knowledge across a broad range of technologies, including cloud services, security, network, storage, servers, voice system, wireless, collaboration and end-user computing devices.
Assist project teams to deliver the infrastructure for technology projects on time and within budget.
Assist the operational teams and provide troubleshooting and analyse technical problems on all types of networked services, equipment and devices in the multicloud environment.
Follow Intel best practices for change control to AEMOs cloud, data and voice networks whilst maintaining high availability and security boundaries.
Produce the as built documents aligned with the detailed network designs. Update Network processes, procedures and standards ensuring compliance with market audits.
Collaborate with market participants and internal technology groups and stakeholders to develop and implement services and resolve issues with IT systems.
Ensure deployed systems have proactive monitoring and management to detect and prevent problems.
Required skills and experience:
Demonstrated though leader that can recommend and implement new technologies in a multi-cloud infrastructure.
Ability producing detailed designs that complement high-level architectural network designs.
Experience delivering highly available services and ensuring the security of the environments.
Balance the operational availability demands whilst also assisting in deploying projects for new services in an environment that is undergoing a digital transformation.
Education and Qualifications:
Degree qualifications in Computing and IT, Communications/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
Recognised professional certification in CISCO, F5, PaloAlto or other network technologies (SDDC, SDWAN, Cloud services Azure, AWS or Google).
Experience in data centre technology environment.
At least three to five years in depth experience of Cisco, WAN, LAN, Security and Internet technologies.
