Senior Java Developer

Exciting and established software development company focused on delivering SaaS fintech solutions, are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer with excellent backend development experience.

The Senior Developer role will work together in high performing product team where you will contribute in the in the design, build and maintain high-quality technology solutions that deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Working as an integral part of an Agile development team, this role will require close and continuous collaboration with fellow team members to translate user stories and functional requirements into resilient & secure technical designs which will be implemented as production-ready application code using Javascript and Java technologies.

Responsibilities:

· Full lifecycle application design and development using Java

· Microservices development knowledge, engineer with a breadth of experience in a microservice architecture, and test-driven development.

· Proactively engage in the remediation of software issues related to code quality, security, and/or pattern/frameworks.

· Mentoring, guiding, and developing a team of developers with a focus on quality and best practice coding standards

· Knowledge and experience preferred CI/CD – Cloud experience

Qualifications:

· Experience as a senior software engineer / developer – Java / Springboot

· Experience building REST APIs and other backend systems that interact with a persistent database (with Python or Node.js)

· Ability to read and understand existing codebases as well as working on new projects

· An understanding of what it takes to make code “production ready” on back-end: how to handle and log errors.

· Understanding of software development life cycle, including CI/CD and testing best practices

· Experience effectively organising and mentoring more junior staff technically

· Ability to communicate effectively with both product management and fellow engineers

· Exposure to AWS, Google Cloud or Azure
