Join this established Data Science team of 10 people, led by an experienced Head of Data Science. He is a HUGE selling point for this role! An incredibly enthusiastic character, with a highly credible background in data science, educated to PhD level in Machine Learning & Computer Vision, passionate about impacting global brands through the use of innovative data science solutions.
If you haven’t worked ‘agency side’ before, fear not! It’s not 18 hour days, volatility and lack of long term projects … quite the opposite.
This is a brilliant chance to work across a number of household name global brands in industries such as retail, payments, telco and healthcare, often on a medium to long term basis, with some of the accounts having been with this large agency for more than a decade.
Technically you can diversify your machine learning and AI skills delivering a wide range of data science products and solutions, including Classification, Deep Learning, NLP, Computer Vision, MLOps, timeseries, advanced modelling, clustering, regression and building recommendation engines, all for marketing, digital and customer purposes.
Additionally you’ll work alongside a large analytics team, who will support your work with classic customer and marketing analytics, insights consultancy and data strategy, enabling you to operate as part of a broad data offering.
You will operate at a very senior level, and depending on your background and experience, you may be able to formally lead more junior members of staff, but it is important that you remain hands on the tools.
The key selling points to joining this function are the people, maturity of data science environment, continued success and growth of the projects and client base, variety and opportunity to learn and grow quickly. There is a culture of continuous learning and training, so you will have support and be encouraged to grow professionally and technically.
Experience required
· Educated to degree level in a relevant, numerate subject; Machine Learning, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics etc.
· Strong statistical background across a range of data science techniques, likely to be: segmentation, recommendation systems, NLP, timeseries, deep learning, neural networks, computer vision, causal inference, A/B testing, predictive modelling and regression.
· Ability to lead, own and drive projects, as well as guide and mentor more junior members of staff.
· Highly skilled Python programmer, with supportive skills in SQL.
· Exposure to Big Data, working in cloud-based environments and in an agile, innovative manner.
· Strong business facing skills; confident in owning and building relationships with key stakeholders, identifying opportunities for projects and scoping solutions.
· Ideally experience in productioninsing machine learning models and complex data science projects at scale.
· Customer focused; always thinking about customer impact in all decision making.
· Very strong communication skills, ability to translate and bring to life complex technical solutions for non-technical audiences and stakeholders, Continuing the drive to put data at the heart of all decision making and making it accessible for the business.
