Salt is proud to partner with one of the UK’s most well-known consumer service brands. The team are expanding and are on the hunt for several Commercial Base Marketing Managers. Not only will you be commercially astute, but you’ll be a significant contributor and channel proposition channel owner within the Base Management and Data team, a group that delivers on our client’s strategic vision to maximise revenue, profitability, engagement, and customer experience, across their existing 30 million Consumer customers. You will be accountable for delivering revenue, churn, volume, value and NPS outcomes, across all products – taking a household view across the main customer journeys (including upgrade, retain, upsell and deep sell).

The Commercial Base Marketing manager will drive the commercial performance, segmentation & stakeholder management agendas for the Squad, delivering activity to end customers in an iterative manner. You will be key contributors in building personalised Mobile, TV, Sport & future product customer journeys, experiences and campaigns that help our client extend and deepen their existing customer relationships. Critically, you will ensure that the squad keep a household value angle to their activity (e. g. building business cases, modelling where required), the key being to drive value with a “test and learn” mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of squad’s performance trading – internally & externally. Driving performance to forecast & including clear “so what” next step plans to drive incremental value
  • Quarterly forecasting & in quarter outlooks
  • Define segment targeting, offer strategies & vision for base X-sell journeys
  • Work with key stakeholders across the squad to identify areas of performance optimisation (campaigns, analytics, data science, assisted voice/digital channels)
  • Drive base trials performance/KPIs including ensuring test and learn v control
  • Development of business cases, using insight and modelling to build scenarios
  • Support the creation of end-to-end base journeys with inbound and outbound capability
  • Prepare requirements & execute project change in squad & with wider support teams
  • Support the refining & prioritising of product backlog taking inputs from Digital & Trading SPOs where necessary
  • Appraise future commercial strategy & long-term planning aligned to wider business planning cycles

Skills:

  • Strong consumer marketing experience ideally within the services industry (at least 4-5 years)
  • Excellent commercial thinker – experience of having P&L or channel revenue accountability is highly desirable
  • Robust use of insight to understand macro commercial and customer challenges, and how it impacts the approach of their squad
  • Solution focused, always able to break through complex issues
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Autonomous and able to think on their feet
  • Excellent stakeholder management & influencing within the squad, but also with external stakeholders trading, digital, Props & Customer Service teams
