I am currently partnered with a large National Organisation with multiple arms to the business. It is a consumer-led business with a well-known and respected household name. They are currently on the hunt for a generalist Internal Communications manager to join an established communication team of 25+.

This is a critical role for the Internal Communications team, reporting directly to the senior leadership and acting as second in command for all internal communications matters. This highly strategic role will work closely with C-suite in developing and leading internal change and engagement across all business areas. The business is on an exciting transformation journey, and you will work several campaigns supporting this process.

The ideal candidates will come from a large national consumer-led organisation with a complex operating model and have previous interim experience. You are confident and capable of working with and gaining the trust of the C-suite and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities:

  • Be the lead for all several communications and engagement projects and strategies for the organisation
  • Working with the Director of Communications to ensure internal and external employer brand messages are aligned
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify key stakeholders, their needs, and concerns, and develop tailored communication strategies to address them
  • Develop and manage a range of communication channels, including email, intranet, and events, to ensure stakeholders and employees are kept informed and engaged throughout change and engagement plans
  • Be the expert on change internal communications and engagement for senior leaders
  • Develop, assess, and deliver internal communications and engagement strategies which engage internal audiences
  • Support the design and implementation of the tools and processes required to establish a n effective change communication foundation
  • Guide the development and delivery of our broader internal communication and engagement strategies
  • Managing staff at different levels and roles to help drive agreed activity, maintain accountability

Key requirements:

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing successful communications and engagement strategies for national consumer-led organisations.
  • Ability to create compelling content for a variety of audiences and channels
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Experienced in a range of comms channels & tools including intranet, events, and video (Yammer)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address stakeholder concerns and adjust communication strategies accordingly
  • Strong team management development and mentoring skills
  • Educated to a Degree in: Communications or equivalent or hold related professional qualifications
