Job Title: Account Director – Enterprise IT Distribution

Location: UK (Hybrid/Office-Based)

About the Company:

A leading enterprise-focused IT distributor, specializing in selling, designing, and delivering advanced server, storage, and infrastructure solutions. As part of its continued expansion, it is seeking a strategic and customer-focused Account Director to drive revenue growth and strengthen key relationships.

Role Overview:

The Account Director will manage a defined group of key accounts, serving as the primary contact for senior-level engagement, account planning, and strategic business development. Working closely with an internal account management team, this role will focus on deepening customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and driving significant revenue and profit growth. The position reports directly to the General Manager of the Specialist VAR Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the executive-level point of contact for key accounts, fostering strong relationships.
  • Work with internal teams to execute account strategies effectively.
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans to drive revenue and expand opportunities.
  • Conduct account mapping to identify key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Drive revenue and profit growth through targeted customer engagement and solution selling.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, technical pre-sales, and vendor management, to enhance customer value.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of customers’ business needs and industry trends.
  • Represent the company in high-level customer engagements, negotiations, and strategic discussions.
  • Report on account performance, revenue growth, and business opportunities to senior leadership.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in senior account management, business development, or sales leadership within IT distribution or enterprise technology.
  • Strong track record of managing high-value accounts and driving significant revenue growth.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage at the executive level.
  • Strategic mindset with expertise in account planning, mapping, and business development.
  • Ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within key accounts.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a results-driven approach to sales.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with enterprise technology solutions, including server, storage, and infrastructure products.
