About the Practice

My clients Professional Services leads the charge for my clients SDN strategy in providing the services to integrate not only those technologies, but also third-party technologies for VNF, Network Control and Orchestration.

Our SDN Consultants get to work with the latest tools in OpenStack, Containers, Analytics and SDN Integration right alongside our developers and customers who are setting the standards in Software Defined Network and Network Function Virtualization.

They also get to work side by side with technology partners, establish great relationships while increasing and developing their expertise in the technology and solutions like SDWAN, uCPE, vCPE, vEPC, Analytics and many others.

About the Position

As a SDN Consultant you will have the opportunity to be viewed as the resident expert for my clients SDN solutions. You will become and be the go to person to solve complex problems and help drive very critical business for my client. You will have the chance to design, build and deliver these technologies on your own and as part of larger teams. There is also the opportunity to deliver both Pre-Sales and Post-Sales projects in all parts of the globe.
My client is looking to you to bring your experience and expertise in SDN to help build our foundation of knowledge. We will supplement your SDN skills with a well-rounded and deep education in our SDN technology and solutions. You will have the opportunity to take part at all levels of the delivery process from design to deep hands on work with SDN, Overlay and Underlay technologies. You will also have the opportunity to participate in conferences, forums and technical summits related to SDN.

Main Responsibilities include:

* Work in a consultative manner to deliver SDN/NFV solutions into Customers
* Follow my customers PS engagement and delivery processes, working closely with the Project Manager
* Personal on-site and/or remote delivery of Professional Services including creation of high level and detailed design documentation, migration planning, product integration and acceptance
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with the customers’ technical teams
* Develop and maintain an in-depth technical and marketing knowledge of the my clients Networks products
* Provide regular feedback of product requirements and performance to internal groups including engineering, consulting and product management Technical Skills Needed
* Ideal- Contrail, OpenStack (Redhat/Mirantis/other), Contrail Service Orchestration (other Orchestration),
Ubuntu/RHEL, KVM (other) Hypervisors, Containers, Docker and other Juniper products including vMX, vSRX,
NFX. Knowledge of underlay/overlay and IP networking.
* Essential- Linux, Scripting (e.g. Perl, Python), Network Monitoring and OSS/BSS/IT integration.
* Advantageous- VMware vCenter/NSX, MPLSoGRE, VXLAN, RESTful APIs, Icinga, Junos (awareness not
expertise), SLAX/Junos Automation, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Cobbler.

Experience/Background Desired

* 6-10 years experience in delivering Systems into Telco and/or DC environments, and integration into
OSS/BSS/IT in Service Providers and/or Enterprise customers
* 2-3 years SDN / NFV related experience as SDN consultant with other vendors (i.e. Nuage/Cisco/Ericsson)
* Minimum of 5 years in a customer-facing/Consultative roles
* Technical writing

Education

* Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar discipline
* Masters of Science preferred

Personal Skills/Attributes Sought
* Experience of designing and implementing virtualized software and solutions is essential.
* Proven capability to effectively transfer knowledge to customer technical teams, both through formal and informal
training.
* Effective planning & communication skills, excellent inter-personal skills, able to work on multiple projects.

Location, Language and Travel

* Able to live and work in France and the European Union.
* Strong command of the English language and French is a plus however not critical to know French.
* Candidate will be primarily onsite with customers, with travels in Europe for short periods, up to 20% of the time. ( Business related costs covered by my client)
