Lead Programme Planner – SAP S/4 HANA (Local Government)

£475/day | Inside IR35 | London (Hybrid – 3 days on-site per week)

6-month initial contract

Salt Recruitment is working with a London-based Local Government body to recruit a Lead Programme Planner to support a major SAP S/4 HANA implementation. This is a critical role focused on creating and managing robust, programme-wide planning across a complex portfolio of work.

The council is mid-way through a significant ERP transformation and is looking for a planner who can bring structure, alignment and control across multiple interdependent workstreams. You’ll be responsible for owning the master programme plan, tracking key milestones, dependencies and risks, and providing clear visibility to senior stakeholders.

This isn’t a junior PMO role – they need someone confident working across senior delivery teams, able to challenge constructively, adapt to change, and provide assurance in a high-pressure environment.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in a senior programme or project planning role
• Strong background in ERP programme delivery – ideally SAP S/4 HANA
• Hands-on experience with planning tools such as MS Project, Planview, Adobe Workfront or Smartsheet
• Track record of creating and maintaining complex project and programme-level plans
• Able to coordinate across delivery leads, PMs and governance teams to keep plans aligned
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work independently when needed

Desirable:

• PRINCE2, MSP, or PMP certification
• Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline
• Previous experience working with Local Authorities or Central Government
