Primary Care Facilitator – Band 5

📅 6-month contract (potential extension)

💷 £160 per day (Inside IR35)

📍 Mainly remote – possibly 1 day travel a month

We are seeking an experienced Primary Care Facilitator to support the roll-out of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) across primary care on a national basis. This role will be instrumental in helping GP practices, community pharmacies, dentists, and optometrists transition from paper-based prescriptions to a fully digital process – improving efficiency, safety, and convenience for patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Support stakeholders throughout the EPS implementation process, including regular progress meetings, risk management, and go-live support.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with primary care stakeholders to understand and address their digital service needs.
• Act as a point of escalation for issues, liaising with relevant teams, health boards, and suppliers.
• Provide reports on project progress, ensuring compliance with national standards and adoption of best practice.
• Contribute to project plans, identifying resources, risks, and critical paths.
• Coach and mentor primary care stakeholders in adopting new digital technologies.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

• Experience delivering customer service and projects within a primary care setting.
• Strong understanding of primary care systems and suppliers.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of NHS information governance and security standards.
• Understanding of DHCW’s role and working knowledge of clinical terms.
• Experience presenting to small groups.
