Software Engineering
Salt are recruiting for an immediate requirement with a central government client of ours who is looking for a Senior Python Developer.
This will be an Inside IR35 contract for 5 months with a possible extension. It would be a hybrid role with 1 day a week expected in office, based in Edinburgh.
This project involves creating a robust, offline-capable desktop application using PyQt or PySide, with integration to Oracle databases. The application will enable the efficient collection of site metadata whilst offline, synchronising with the central database archive on return to the office or when an internet connection is available.
Skills:
* Design and develop a high-performance desktop application using PyQt or PySide
* Implement secure data synchronization between the application and Oracle databases
* Create an intuitive, touch-friendly user interface for Windows 10/11 environments
* Develop offline capabilities with local data storage and record conflict resolution
* Integrate additional tools such as graphical viewers and voice recorders
* Ensure data security and integrity throughout the application
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship within a dynamic team
* Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and implement project requirements
An active SC Clearance for this role would be desirable but not required.
