Rate: €600 – €800 per day

• We are currently looking to hire an Exceptional Testing Methodology SME for a Banking Customer in Belgium. Previous Test Management experience in a Banking environment is highly advantageous.

• As part of the central IT methodology team, you work on improving the internal IT processes and standards.

• The organisational context is a hybrid Agile and traditional IT environment, with partial in-house and off-shore staffing.

• In an advisory role, you advocate towards a standardised and organised approach across the organisation.
• You work in a spirit of continuous improvement, and deliver in a lean way: pragmatic, agile and effective.

• You take ownership of the Project Life-Cycle and Agile operating model process documentation. This is maintained for internal training and knowledge transfer purposes, but also for governance and risk control (based on the COBIT framework), and to support regulatory & audit needs.

• You analyse the impact of proposed process changes, coordinate the implementation, and organise the change management to all impacted stakeholders.

• As a continuous task, you work towards optimising and standardising the documentation and representation of the IT process concepts, both textually and visually.

• As a subject matter expert on Testing, you advise and work with the internal Test community (c.200 people) to maintain the fit-for-purpose of all Test related skills & assets. These include documentation on Test processes, activities and work products, templates, guidelines & best practice documents, and a training catalogue.

• These assets are owned by the Test community, who depend on someone to keep the transversal view and promote standardisation.

• On a regular basis, you evaluate together with the Test community any opportunities for transversal skill improvement, and provide guidance on possible solutions.

• You actively engage with the community to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing, whenever you see gaps. You look for opportunities to bring community members together around common goals, and, as much as possible, contribute to the successful outcome of these initiatives.

• You regularly scan the market for new trends, tools, or techniques that could potentially improve or evolve the Test activities, and advertise them to the community, both in Agile and traditional teams.

• Where needed, you provide mentoring & coaching on Testing related topics, such as test strategies, test techniques, test management, product backlog management, stakeholder management etc. Topics on which you can demonstrate past experience.

• Finally, you serve as a single-point-of-contact to other business stakeholders that need to work with or communicate to the Test community, e.g. for risk control or governance purposes.

Required Skills: Testing Methodology SME / Coaching / Team Leading / Agile / Scrum / Kanban – Banking – Brussels

• At least 5 years’ experience in a Test Lead or Test Management role
• Good understanding of both traditional ‘waterfall’ and Agile (Scrum, Kanban, DevOps) software development methodology
• ISTQB qualified
• Experience working in an advisory role
• Previous experience in training & coaching
• Personal qualities: self-starting, good communicator, pragmatic, no ‘ivory-tower’ mentality
• Full professional proficiency in English
