Tis the season of goodwill and with that in mind we wanted to showcase some of the charities Salt support as part of our global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program and provide links for how you and or your company can also get involved.
UK
One of the most enjoyable charity events the UK team got involved in this year was helping out at the local Ronald McDonald House. A group of 17 helped cook a variety of meals for the families staying in the house. The House is a free ‘home away from home’ for the families of children being treated at the local children’s Hospital enabling them to stay together and keep them near the care and resources they need.
The house has many different opportunities for you or your company to get involved with. To find out more information click here.
USA

Australia
Clean up Australia This superb organisation inspires communities or groups to conserve and repair our environment. Two intrepid teams from the Sydney office set off for Bondi beach with a mission to make the beach and surrounding areas a little cleaner than they were before. It was only once their eyes were trained on the rubbish that it became apparent that “put it in the bin” seems to be a request rather than a demand for some people!

Pertubuhan Tindakan Wanita Islam (PERTIWI) is a project-oriented charitable organisation dedicated to addressing the welfare and needs of women and children.
They run several community outreach groups, one of which is a mobile soup kitchen, that the team volunteered at, providing food aid to the homeless and poor.

Food Angel is a food rescue and food assistance programme launched in 2011 by Bo Charity Foundation with the mission of “WASTE NOT, HUNGER NOT, WITH LOVE.” The programme rescues edible surplus food from different sectors of the food industry that would otherwise be disposed of as waste. Following strict safety protocols, the rescued food items will then be prepared for nutritious hot meals in their central kitchen and be redistributed to serve the local communities. The Hong Kong team have been along to help pack meals for the underprivileged in the area.

It operates a soup kitchen that prepares, cooks and distributes about 5,000 daily meals to over 40 locations islandwide, 365 days a year. Beneficiaries include the elderly, the disabled, low-income families, children from single-parent families or otherwise poverty-stricken families, and migrant workers in Singapore.
