Location: Remote

Our client is an alternative legal services provider based in Portland, Oregon, USA but with team members based across the US, the UK, Europe and as far afield as India.

They provide three types of services to their clients:

• Legal Resources – lawyers and contract managers engaged in legal work predominantly contracting.
• Legal and Operations Consulting – helping their clients develop operations, processes and best practise that allow the smoother and more cost-effective resolution of business issues.
• Digital Services – the development and configuration of digital services to meet business needs predominantly in the legal, regulated and knowledge management sectors. This can include provision of software for the client to configure or custom configuration and support.

The company has two products which it utilises across the business:

AUTTO – this is a no-code workflow development platform which is licensed to a small number of law firms and other clients. AUTTO is also used to configure services for their clients. Its users are a small number of clients using it to develop workflows and a greater number which are going to be using.

CONCIERGE – a matter management platform which forms the resource allocation and data backbone of the firm. It also provides client data and financial reporting including invoice and provider statement production.

The company has ambitious plans to further develop and expand these products.

About the Role

The role is part of a dynamic and fast changing business. Initially the role will have two distinct parts. As the business grows it is intended that the role will grow to encompass management of other resources.

Legal App Development

This role is an opportunity to be part of a small, focused and experienced team providing innovative solutions that are part of the fourth industrial revolution transforming our workplaces.

Sometimes their clients develop apps for themselves, sometimes they ask our client to provide the skills and expertise to automate processes.

This is a customer facing role and you will work with the Chief Product Officer and the new Legal Operations Consulting group to develop and support client facing solutions.

You will work with our clients to:

• Understand their requirements
• Translate these into our clients no-code platform – AUTTO
• Develop the automations or applications
• Communicate the project status
• Understanding of relational databases is very useful
• Familiarity with MS Power BI is preferable

Information Security Management System

The business maintains an Information Security Management System – not a technical system but a series of policies, processes and meetings – to allow it maintain ISO27001 certification and in the future SOCII. You will act as the administrator of this system, organising and chairing meetings, maintaining documentation and co-ordinating with colleagues. This system is largely in place but is currently being extended with assistance from a consultant.

Technical requirements

As Autto is a no-code environment this does not require software developer skills. The role is more in the nature of a business analyst with technical skills, rather like building workflows in Hubspot or Salesforce.

However, the role will use some advanced features which require the following skills:

• Understanding and ability to structure relational databases
• Working knowledge of JSON API connections configuration and set up
• Ability to use Regular Expression
• Some basic scripting
• Basic HTML
