Strategic Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Business Analyst to support the drafting, preparation, and execution of procurement documentation for complex technology projects. This role will focus on business requirements and RFP management across domains such as Network Infrastructure, Security, Applications, and other IT services.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Requirements Analysis

• Engage with stakeholders to define project objectives and technology procurement requirements.
• Document both functional and technical requirements across infrastructure, security, and applications.
• Lead requirement-gathering workshops, interviews, and surveys to ensure stakeholder alignment.
• Draft business cases, feasibility studies, and impact assessments for proposed technology solutions.
• Define scope, prioritise requirements, and establish success metrics.

RFP Preparation & Procurement Coordination

• Lead end-to-end development of Business Requirement Specifications (BRS), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Requests for Quotations (RFQs).
• Coordinate with technical, legal, finance, and procurement teams to ensure completeness and compliance of all documentation.
• Define evaluation criteria, scoring frameworks, and vendor selection protocols.
• Ensure alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal governance frameworks.
• Facilitate engagement with prospective vendors, including pre-bid meetings and response clarifications.

Acquisition & Vendor Management

• Review and assess vendor submissions based on functional, technical, and financial criteria.
• Participate in vendor negotiations and assist in finalising contracts.
• Support vendor onboarding and ongoing performance evaluation processes.
• Maintain an organised, central repository of all procurement-related documentation.

Operational Support & Governance

• Develop and maintain standardised templates and documentation guidelines for technology procurement.
• Ensure clarity, consistency, and quality across all procurement artefacts.
• Produce business process models, requirements documents, and decision-support materials.
• Track RFP progress, manage changes, and enforce compliance throughout the lifecycle.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement, implementation, and vendor performance.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and governance teams to ensure acquisitions align with security protocols and compliance standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline (NQF level 7).
• Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong background in technology procurement and RFP management.

Preferred

• Diploma in Business Analysis or related certification.
• Experience working across Network Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Enterprise Applications.
• Familiarity with procurement regulations, risk management, and vendor governance frameworks.

Skills

• Proficient in business requirement gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong documentation, negotiation, and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Adept at managing cross-functional teams and multiple concurrent procurement initiatives.
