All you freelance Digital Production Managers, you free now? Fancy an awesome freelance Digital Production Managers Outside IR35 and remote? Well then…

As I am working with an award-winning experience agency based in central London. They create experiences for their clients that are based around strong storytelling principles, and are based in real world, virtual and hybrid scenarios. Often enhanced and sometimes rooted in digital platforms, it is essential that we ensure that the visitor journey and overall experience is smooth and seamless. They look to immerse and connect with their audience, through sensory, interactive, gamified and shared engagements.

A digital production manager is a key role within the agency.

What are they looking for?

  • Solid understanding of the general technical development processes, red flags, trip points, etc. The DPM is not expected to be a developer, but must be able to speak with developers and understand their needs and concerns and be able to interrogate their recommendations
  • Actively promoting learning of technology topics throughout the agency, to clients, potential clients and to their social network audiences
  • Remaining up to date with on-going and emerging trends, technologies, opportunities and risks within the general technical and digital landscapes

This is a multi-pronged role, and it is expected that a degree of fluidity will exist with the role, due to the ever-changing nature of any technology-related position. In general, they see this role as a mix between a technology advisor and a digital project manager. The following areas would be expected to fall within the scope, but this is not an exhaustive list.

~ The DPM would work exceptionally closely with the Digital and Technology Director.

~ Close collaboration with other team members, across the spectrum of departments and skillsets, would be expected – creative, design, account management, finance, etc.

~ Focus areas would include in-play projects (for clients or internal audiences) and new business

~ Sourcing, reviewing, scoring and recommending suppliers, partners and other useful parties and managing them once on-boarded

~ Acting as a technical sounding board to the creative team where required and liaising closely with partners and suppliers on solution crafting

~ Work collaboratively with others (both internally and externally) when determining feasible scope for solutions – for example, making the creative team aware that an idea will take 10 months to craft, but an alternative solution can be crafted in 2 months

~ Work alongside project managers and account team members to detail timelines, fees, risks and opportunities for in-play projects and new business

~ Provide technical input and steering for RFI responses and be involved in client-facing discussions

  • Work in both agile and waterfall environments
  • Constantly look for, recommend and demonstrate better ways of working, internally and with clients
  • High quality of verbal and written communication
  • Reviewing and adding input into UX, IA, wireframes, visual designs, prototypes and other related assets in order to increase product quality
  • Meet clients and interview them to gather information about their requirements and to find out what needs to be resolved
  • Be an enthusiastic and empathetic user advocate and a champion of excellence in their interactive product experiences
  • You will be working in a small, passionate team and need to be able to express your opinions clearly and be great at estimating and managing your time and deliverables
