£300. - £300.00 per dayContext
My client is a boutique consultancy that acts as a collaboration partner for their clients. With deep roots in digital innovation, they help clients tackle their biggest challenges, build their internal capabilities, and inject agility into their organisations.
At just 14 months old, they’ve built an impressive cross-functional team of 25 (Strategists, Designers and Coaches) working with some amazing clients, incl. Post Office, River Island, Dior and Sue Ryder.
As my client gear up for 2019, they’re on the look-out for someone with a broad background in product with a focus on deploying product coupled with strategic thinking. You will work closely with the Product Lead and help define what ‘Product’ is at this company.
Our work
Post Office: They have been partnered with their Innovation team from their inception, helping them to grow their digital product capability and re-imagine a number of Post Office’s products and services as mobile apps that drive real value for customers + their business.
River Island: They are partnered with their Tech Hub, leading their Design team and growing that internal capability, enabling them to drastically improve the experience across their website and mobile apps.
Global Pharmaceutical Company: They are partnered with the central digital team of a large global Pharmaceutical company spearheading a culture transformation across 120,000 employees. My client’s team works closely with the Chief Digital Officer, his leadership team and key digital initiatives to coach them in new, more nimble ways of working and enable them to deliver new products and services harder, faster, better, stronger.
Who we need
My client’s work is broad and varied so they are looking for a cross-functional person with experience across multiple disciplines related to Digital Product Development. You’ve got a solid 2-5 year’s behind you and you’re looking to broaden your skill-set and stretch your experience in an environment where you can make your own destiny.
You are someone who understands things quickly and isn’t afraid to make decisions. You prefer to move fast and learn rather than be afraid of making mistakes through a lack of certainty or confidence. You’d describe yourself as a ‘maker’, and you’re always the first person to pick up the pen. And whilst you’ve got confidence, you have the humility to know you’re not always right, and those around you might have a smarter answer.
You’re a curious person. Whilst not necessarily an expert in many areas, you will have an interest and solid understanding of product related disciplines, alongside expertise in at least one.
You might be known as a service designer, researcher, strategist or product manager in your work-life to date. We see these disciplines as reflections of one another, with strategy core to all. We call ourselves Product Strategists.
What a day might look like
A typical day might see you helping to answer a brief from a client, or running customer research on a new project. You might be out on the road talking to customers, before distilling the learning into something understandable for your team and the client. Or you might be with the client in a workshop getting under the lid of what they really need so we can get working on building the right thing. You might be building a presentation to share our learnings and a strategy with a senior team, or you might be leading a progress report. Whatever the day looks like, we’ll look to you to bring fresh perspective, learning and always moving towards making.
