Within the company, a UX Designer is a knowledgeable and passionate advocate of user-centred design. They are highly collaborative and have proven experience in the design of customer experiences across multiple platforms such as web, mobile, tablet and desktop applications.
The Role
UX Designers of all levels work on both internal and external projects spanning the entire design process from initial understanding and exploration (Discovery), to creating strategic research output such as personas (Define), to concept generation and design detailing (Design), and then onto providing support during build (Develop).
DISCOVER > DEFINE > DESIGN > DEVELOP
With an analytical and creative mind they are responsible for translating the intangible into the tangible. They are able to tackle complex problems and bring clarity, order and understanding to a confusion of requirements through requirements gathering, user research, scenarios, personas, sketches, models, site maps, user journeys, process flows, wireframes, prototypes and other relevant UX outputs.
UX Designers bring balance to business requirements and user needs and they resolve to deliver elegant products to the hands of end users and customers. They illustrate a drive towards simplifying involved design challenges and are expected to be bright, creative and intelligent in their approach, provide sound rationale to the solutions and be generous in their collaboration with others. A successful UX Designer must at all times demonstrate a professional demeanour, with strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills. They must be committed to the development of our practice and engage with both internal and external audiences in debate around relevant industry issue
