Join this globally revered luxury retailer, who have spent a number of years investing a huge amount into data and CRM personalization. This is underpinned by data science from the top down, across all layers of the company, driven by this centralised, global Data Science function.

The team is led by a group of inspirational Directors, whose ongoing ambition is to improve customer experience and overall business performance through the use of data science and advanced analytics across in store and digital channels

As a Senior Data Scientist you will deliver data science projects around things like building recommendation engines, conversion models, helping the digital marketing teams to understand when a customer will buy or return an item, and supporting decisions around making website changes to drive a change in customer behavoiour. You’ll work as part of a team of Data Scientists as well as Data Engineers, so if you have a blended skill set across both MLE or software engineering and data science this is a HUGE plus! You will have the chance to flex your skills to improve eCommerce for this brand, as they work to reach ambitions to further modernise and improve their digital customer journey.

Additionally, working as part of the global Centre of Excellent for data science, you will help the regional teams to sharpen their skills, setting the standard.

The culture and pace is ferocious, so the ability to adapt to various stakeholder requests, and perform to a high level within a typical retail trading environment is key.

Experience required:

· Educated to at least degree level in a numerate subject such as engineering, mathematics, statistics, chemistry, physics, machine learning, computer science etc.

· A background in leveraging hands on skills using tools such as Python, R, Spark, Hadoop, SQL and cloud based platforms such as GCP, Azure and AWS to manipulate and analyse various data sets in large volumes

· Background in data science from ideally a mature retail environment

· Experience in the application of data science within an eCommerce context for the purposes of improve online customer journey

· Confident and strong presentation skills; ability to bring data to life for senior leaders and non-technical stakeholders

· Thrives in a pacey and high performing environment

· Strong team collaboration skills, able to work in a dynamic and solutions focused environment
