£90k – £120k + benefits
London Hybrid (2 days per week in-office)

Join one of the stand-out players in the global insurance space as they look to add a Senior / Lead Data Scientist to their team, with the focus on building best-in-class AI solutions and driving forward a disruptive phase of new data science products, tools and solutions.

Over the past 12 months the Head of Data Science and Director of Data have built a talented team of 15 Data Scientists, Engineers and Full-Stack Developers, forming a new “digital hub” within the business. Their ambition, to disrupt the global insurance space – taking the business towards a new future as a true data-led organisation. Plans are to extend the team to around 27 people, expanding their reach while keeping their independence as a “start-up within a wider business” feel.

We’re looking for innovators, influencers and passionate Data Scientists. People who are knowledgeable of their field, and can embrace the opportunity to make their ideas reality. You’ll be given all the tools and support needed to do this!

You will have the opportunity to lead on a wide variety of projects, with current projects centered on creating & deploying AI/ML solutions for pricing, sustainability, risk and AI and building chat bots!

Experience required:

• Educated to degree level in a STEM subject (ideally MSc or above) such as Computer Science, Machine Learning, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics etc.
• Advanced skills with Python or R, and SQL for building machine learning models and solutions
• Knowledge of cloud platform GCP (or Azure or AWS)
• Strong familiarity with data visualization platforms such as PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau, Looker etc.
• Experience with advanced AI & Machine Learning techniques and methodologies, connected to customer, operations, business and marketing
• Exceptional relationship building skills, and strong business acumen to engage clients and stakeholders
