Senior IT Systems Administrator (Windows)

I’m working with a leading University in the South of England who are looking for a Senior IT Systems Administrator (Windows).

The role is focused on managing and developing core IT services, with a strong emphasis on Windows Server Environments, Active Directory, Office 365, and backup/ disaster recovery solutions. The position also plays a key part in technical leadership and service improvement across the IT infrastructure team.

📍 MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE:

• Microsoft 365 (Office 365) – admin, support, and development
• Exchange / Exchange Online -must have proven experience of migrating Exchange on-premise to Exchange online
• Windows Server – strong hands-on experience
• Active Directory / Azure AD – configuration, support
• Backup systems and disaster recovery processes
• ***Experience working in or with the higher education sector***

📍ESSENTIALS:

• Strong communication & problem-solving skills
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
• Collaborative team player with a customer-focused mindset
• Experience documenting IT systems & procedures
• Degree in IT (or equivalent experience) or MCSE certification
• Hands-on with at least 3: Exchange, ADFS, Azure AD, Citrix, Office 365, patching, email security
• Familiarity with ITIL or structured service environments

Location: South of England- Hybrid 2 days onsite

Salary: £40,497- £48,149
