The Company

My client is a global company in the Fintech space, with a unique model that separates them from the competition. They are a market leader in a very competitive industry. They are looking for a dynamic and rounded Japanese speaking SEO expert to come in and drive forward the SEO proposition in one of the most lucrative global markets. Key stakeholder management is an important part of this role. Sitting within the Client Acquisition team, this role offers great potential for growth within the business. The successful candidate will be an expert in the field of natural search, as well as fluent in Japanese to at least a near-native level.

Main Job Responsibilities:

• Manage, maintain and increase the online presence of the Japan brand through the latest organic on-page search and content marketing techniques
• Carry out detailed keyword research and opportunity analysis
• Adapt the global on-page SEO strategy to the Japanese market
• Identify market-specific opportunities and content gaps and develop targeted strategies to tackle them
• Assist Off Page, Technical and Data SEO teams with projects and campaigns in Japan
• Work with the wider UK and Tokyo marketing teams to adapt and deliver global campaigns in Japan
• Play an active role in key stakeholder meetings, championing the important role of native content distribution in digital marketing
• Utilise analytical tools and methods to identify new SEO opportunities

Key competencies and experience:

• Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese
• A minimum of three years’ experience in an SEO or content-focused role
• A good understanding of the digital landscape in Japan
• Ability to create, justify, communicate and implement organic search strategies to the SEO team and senior stakeholders
• Experience of competitor analysis and risk management
• Knowledge of on- and off page ranking factors and optimisation techniques
• Confidence working within cross-functional, international teams
• Experience using third party tools such as Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, SEMrush, Ahrefs Screaming Frog/DeepCrawl etc.
