Role Overview:
We are seeking a People Officer to deliver core HR and payroll processes with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring a high standard of service across the business. Acting as the first point of contact for people and payroll queries across the UK & Ireland, you will also support employee benefits, HR reporting, and key employee lifecycle processes.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line HR support and guidance to managers and employees.
- Support employee relations activities, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance management.
- Assist with developing and implementing HR policies aligned with business strategy.
- Manage onboarding, probation, changes to terms, and offboarding processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records in compliance with GDPR.
- Support broader HR initiatives such as learning and development and engagement surveys.
- Stay informed on changes to employment law and HR best practices.
- Produce timely and accurate HR reports.
- Support ad-hoc HR projects.
Payroll Responsibilities:
- Process monthly payroll for the UK & Ireland accurately and efficiently.
- Liaise with finance teams and external payroll providers to submit data and resolve queries.
- Manage payroll changes including starters, leavers, salary adjustments, and statutory payments.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and pension auto-enrolments.
- Maintain accurate payroll records for finance and audit purposes.
- Support year-end payroll processes (e.g., P60s, P11Ds).
- Calculate holiday entitlements for part-time employees.
- Administer and maintain employee benefits.
- Manage Maternity, Paternity, Shared Parental, and Adoption leave processes.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong background in payroll administration.
- Experience in HR administration or advisory roles.
- Proficient in Excel.
- CIPP or CIPD qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
