Job Title: EMEA Lead Operations Technician

Role Overview: As the EMEA Lead Operations Technician, you’ll be the driving force behind the seamless execution of live training events across EMEA. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a talented team, engage with exciting technical challenges, and ensure that both in-person and virtual events exceed expectations. Your expertise and leadership will be pivotal in delivering flawless, high-impact experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Inspire and lead a team of Operations Technicians with guidance from the Head of Operations and HR.
  • Spearhead recruitment and onboarding of new talent.
  • Drive continuous learning and development to keep the team at the cutting edge of technology.
  • Establish and manage team KPIs and objectives, and conduct annual Performance Development Reviews (PDRs).

Event Management:

  • Conduct remote and on-site assessments of venue networks and internet infrastructure to ensure readiness.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison during live events, including training sessions, summits, and programs.
  • Coordinate with on-site personnel and third-party vendors to ensure optimal network configurations.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain technical equipment for top-tier hybrid events.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues swiftly to ensure uninterrupted event execution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support IT needs for student-facing activities.

Virtual Event Support:

  • Manage and optimize virtual event platforms for flawless functionality.
  • Provide expert guidance to Operations Technicians and instructors during virtual events.
  • Technical Administration & Process Management:
  • Oversee technical resources with precision, from call sheets to scheduling.
  • Generate detailed reports on event-related technical issues and resolutions.
  • Manage team schedules to guarantee full event coverage and resource allocation.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with peers and executives to drive operational excellence.
  • Proactively seek and implement improvements to enhance event delivery and quality.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience in installing and configuring computer networking equipment.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot performance issues in live environments.
  • Deep understanding of wired/wireless network concepts and enterprise-grade routing/switching hardware.
  • Experience with network monitoring, traffic shaping solutions, and stateful firewall configuration.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a knack for managing change and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Thrives under pressure and excels in leading a team to achieve success.
