Mainframe Developer (Business Support Tool) – Banking – Brussels.

Duration: 6 months + extension

Rate: flexible

Remote working is allowed some travel 1-2 in months will be needed.

• Business Support Tools team is part of the Smart Automation department.
• We develop automation, follow-up and reporting tools in a short time to market approach.
• Our reporting is built with a set of SQL queries accessing a Infocentre tables in DB2 used directly in TSOP or through Windows tools.

Business solution developer, which includes the following role:

• Liaising with internal clients to understand system requirements and existing business process.
• Translating business requirements into detailed function specifications and, if necessary, managing requests for changes to the specifications
• Assisting in the analysis of the business and technical needs by gathering information and performing analysis
• Carrying out reporting development and maintenance. Capable of operating autonomously on many programming, testing and maintenance activities.
• Knowing and efficiently applying the application development techniques and best practices allowing to swiftly deliver IT solutions to the business.

Role:

You will be responsible for below deliverables/activities:

• Collection and fine-tuning of business requirements from internal customers for your developments
• Writing and reviewing of documentation such as technical notes on design, intervention guide, end-user documentation, …
• Design & development of queries within time and budget and with the required quality (i.e., according to business requirements and design guidelines)
• Testing of your developments
• Maintenance of existing reporting
• In the support of the reporting running in production, you will ensure periodic daylight support to end users.

Qualifications and Skills:

Technical skills

• DBMS: DB2
• DEV: TSOP, QMF for Workstation, WebSphere
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite O365(mainly Excel)

Soft skills

• Flexible and open minded to align your way on the guidelines and methodology.
• Service oriented, customer focus, and solution driven.
• Autonomous in your work
• Flexible to adapt quickly in a complex environment where priorities can change regularly.
• A good communicator for efficient handling of problems within & across teams
• Fluent in English (oral and written)

Ideally, you have an experience of several years in DB2.

• Fluency in English is a must.
