Position: IT Project Manager

Contract: Fixed-Term, 12 months.

Introduction:

Our client, a leader in the retail and FMCG industry, is seeking an IT Project Manager to oversee their IT Project and provide strategic direction to maximize benefits while minimizing project and business risks. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based at their Head Office in Cape Town.

Job Description:

As the IT Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing the IT project project .
• Providing strategic direction and frameworks to align projects with business objectives.
• Maximizing the delivery of benefits while minimizing project and business risks.
• Collaborating with business champions, business unit management, and program sponsors to define project objectives, scope, impacts, outputs, cost, benefits, and success criteria.
• Ensuring the delivery of required outputs for each phase or stage of projects.
• Creating and controlling all project management-related documents.
• Managing people, processes, and technology to deliver solutions effectively according to project requirements.
• Conducting post-implementation reviews (PIRs) and providing recommendations based on best practices and lessons learned.
• Identifying, tracking, and mitigating project risks and issues.
• Effectively managing the project budget by forecasting requirements, monitoring, tracking, and managing expenditure.
• Leading cross-functional project teams, mentoring team members, and ensuring on-time task completion.
• Applying quality management principles and processes.
• Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships across business, suppliers, and IT.
• Conducting regular project reviews and accurately communicating the status of the project .
• Producing management reports using established IT project Management methodology.
• Establishing and updating plans with actuals and forecasts.

Minimum Requirements:

• A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification or NQF-aligned qualification in IT.
• Project Management certification.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in program and project management.
• Experience managing at least 5 IT or IT-related projects through the complete project management lifecycle.
• Agile Project Management experience.
• Proven track record of delivering business application and infrastructure projects.
• Flexibility to work flexible hours to support project delivery.
• Travel (local and international) may be required, depending on project scope and requirements.
