Backend Java Developer (India)

Salt is currently hiring a Java Developer(offshore) for client of ours in Germany.

This is a 4 month contract role.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Java Developer to support the development and enhancement of enterprise commerce applications within an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban). The role includes backend development, system integration, testing, deployment, and application support.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based applications based on Jira requirements
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following development standards
• Submit and manage code in GitHub repositories
• Design and implement database structures and integrations
• Perform unit testing, bug fixing, and code reviews
• Document technical changes in Confluence and update progress in Jira
• Support system integration, deployment, and application maintenance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
• Follow security, quality, and Agile development practices

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Java and Spring/Spring Boot
• Experience with REST APIs and microservices
• Knowledge of SQL and database design
• Familiarity with GitHub, Jira, and Confluence
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
• Understanding of testing, CI/CD, and software development best practices

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms, Docker, or Kubernetes
• Exposure to commerce/e-commerce platforms

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Relevant experience in Java software development
