Description of the function

We are looking for a senior accountant, with solid communication, technology, organizational and analytical skills to join the Financial Division in our Group Accounting Services department. We’re looking for someone who see opportunities instead of challenges, who ask better questions to seek better answers. What you know matters, but the right mindset is just as important in determining success.

Together with a team of multiple (associate) accountants you will be assigned to specific accounting tasks within our Finance Shared Service center. In a first phase you will deal with all the end-to-end accounting tasks and high importance should be given to the review of current accounting processes, accounting data quality and improvement.

Main roles

• Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules
• Perform month-end analytical reviews of the accounts, explaining fluctuations to key stakeholders (cost accounting analysis)
• Prepares, records, analyses and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles
• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
• Identify areas for process improvement and take action to make it a success
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounting journal entries
• Ensure that the balance sheet accounts are coherent and properly reconciled
• Interact with internal and external auditors

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Finance / Accounting
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role
• Excellent excel skills are key
• Good knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP / IFRS)
• Good communication skills and pro-active attitude
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Experience in working with an integrated ERP system, preferably Oracle is an asset
• Fluent in English
