Data Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Interim Analytics Engineer / Data Engineer to support the development of a robust and scalable data foundation. This role focuses on building reliable data pipelines, well-structured models, and trusted datasets that enable consistent, high-quality analytics across the organization.

You will play a key role in strengthening the data platform-moving beyond quick fixes to create sustainable, well-documented, and maintainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and Azure
• Ingest, clean, and transform data from various source systems into analytics-ready layers
• Develop and maintain scalable data models that support efficient and consistent reporting
• Create reusable datasets to enable self-service analytics
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and testing frameworks to ensure reliability
• Establish guardrails such as validation processes, alerting, and documentation to maintain system integrity
• Document data pipelines, transformations, and business logic clearly for future use
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an Analytics Engineer or Data Engineer (interim or project-based experience is a plus)
• Strong proficiency in SQL
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure data services
• Solid understanding of data modeling techniques (e.g., dimensional modeling, medallion architecture)
• Experience with data transformation and pipeline design
• Strong focus on data reliability, including version control, testing, and documentation
• Familiarity with data quality frameworks and testing methodologies
• Understanding of data governance and compliance best practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
