Perfect for the data literate sports fan!
Do you know what makes data work? The important numbers behind a football fixture or tennis match?
Most importantly, do you know the difference between Manchester Utd and Man U? (hint, there isn’t!)
We’re looking for a data-literate sports fan to help this huge gaming/gabling company build the most impactful internal sportsbook in the market. Assisting them in taking ownership of the end-to-end data process – a first in this space!
What is needed is someone who can look at the big picture and piece together all the right data to ensure best practice across the project. Someone who can own this data, polish it like a prized trophy and display in the cabinet of one of the most successful gaming groups in the UK.
Ideally, the perfect person will be someone who has designed frameworks from a new-development viewpoint, and can guide engineers as they develop their pipelines – ensuring a scalable process. You’ll come from an engineering or analytical background, and can understand the technical. Most importantly, you’ll be able to combine this knowledge with your keen interest in sports to build out a reliable practice – making sure that ETL is reliable, data providers are being held to account, that the data is tested, and contribute your know-how to the development of wider strategy.
What’s in it for you? A fantastic culture, flexible working, strong benefits (including private medical & enhanced pension), a rewarding environment and great people!
Skills and Experience
– Experience managing data products in a commercial environment
– Experience and a keen interest in sporting data
– Strong SQL and Python knowledge
– The data acumen to guide engineers and analysts
– A problem-solving mindset capable of taking on quant challenges
