Day rate: £600 – £800 (inside IR35)

My new client is looking for a Azure Data Architect to join the team on a 12 month contract.

Responsibilities:

Data Architecture & Design:

· Develop and implement end-to-end data architecture solutions on the Azure platform.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design data solutions that align with organisational goals.

Azure Data Platform Expertise:

· Demonstrate proficiency in architecting with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks (ADB), Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS Gen2), Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Streaming solutions using Azure Event Hub/Grid.

· Stay current with Azure data platform services and provide recommendations for adopting new features to improve data architecture.

Data Modelling and Schema Design:

· Design and implement efficient data models and database schemas.

· Ensure data integrity, security, and optimal performance in data storage and retrieval.

Performance Optimisation:

· Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data processing and storage.

· Collaborate with data engineers to optimise data pipelines for speed and efficiency.

Collaboration and Communication:

· Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, devops engineers and business stakeholders.

· Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience & Skills:

· Proven experience as a Data Architect with a focus on Azure data services.

· Excellent understanding of Modern Data Warehouse, Data Lakehouse, and Data Mesh architectures and best practices.

· In-depth knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, and Azure Synapse Analytics.

· Strong proficiency in SQL and data modelling.

· Familiarity with big data technologies and distributed computing.

Certifications:

· Azure certifications related to data services (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate) are highly desirable.

Communication:

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
