Data Engineer (Java, ETL, SQL, Hadoop or Cloudera) – Banking Client – Brussels
Rate: £500 – £600 per day
Duration: 12 month contract assignment
I am currently working with a Banking Client of mine based in Brussels. The Data Engineering team are looking to hire 2 Data Engineers into the team on a contract / Freelance basis.
The hiring manager has said that you do not need to have Banking Experience for the role but more importantly a “Get the job done” type of mentality but also a willingness to learn and pic up new skills such as Spark / Scala.
Skills: Data Engineer (Java, ETL, SQL, Hadoop or Cloudera) – Banking Client – Brussels
For this data engineer requisition, we are looking for someone having the following skills / experience:
- Experience with understanding and creating data flows, with data architecture, with ETL/ELT development and with processing structured
- Ability to write SQL statements
- Knowledge of JAVA is key, while Scala and Spark as an asset
- Highly recommended to know Hadoop (or Cloudera)
- “Get the job done” type of person, someone focused on delivering what he is supposed to deliver
- Experience of the banking business would be considered as an asset, if not then a strong willingness to learn a new business
