Data Tuning Analyst – £700-£800/day – Inside IR35 – Hybrid Working – Central London Based Office – 6 month Contract
One of Salt’s key clients are currently looking for a Data Tuning Analyst to join their fast paced startup. The company is a corporate venture operating in the regulatory technology space. Its vision is to materially improve effectiveness and efficiency of non-financial crime compliance for cross-border and domestic payments and reduce the overall level of friction in the global payment system. The company is developing a set of API-based services that financial institutions will connect to allowing them to decommission their in-house legacy systems.
Experience of working in a fast-paced startup would be advantageous. Ideally within the Financial Applications industry, but experience in any startup will be desirable.
What you’ll do:
- Apply data analytic tools and techniques to identify changes to optimise relevant screening systems
- Build a good understanding of the screening solution and identify tuning rules to reduce false positives generated from the screening system
- Build a good understanding of the auto-decision solution and build a process to validate and manage rules within the auto-decision solution
- Supporting the Analytics Lead in defining a tuning framework to reduce false positives within the screening process
- Conduct data analysis by leveraging historical data to identify ways to improve screening output
- Supporting the Analytics Lead in designing and implementing a repeatable framework for tuning, testing and measurement of anomalies
- Review and assess existing system and controls relevant to screening to ascertain operational performance and effectiveness measures
- Support with the alignment of systems to model risk management processes and standards
Data Tuning Analyst essential experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a data analytic / risk analytics / Data Tuning Analyst role
- Ability to analyse information (identify trends, patterns / anomalies) and present a summary of results
- Experience in statistical modelling, and analysis using techniques such as regression analysis, multivariate analysis, factor analysis, and clustering
- Proficiency in R and/or Python programming
- Proficiency in SQL scripting and SQL databases
- Experience working with XML data structures and JSON data formats
- Experience of using Teams, Jira, Confluence, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem-solving expertise
- Experience with HiveQL, Spark
- Experience of PACS.008 / IS020022 transaction types and MT message types
- Experience of working on a complex platform software delivery
- Exposure and experience to sanctions screening systems and analytics related to screening
- Experience of working with a distributed team
- Fluent in written and spoken business English
