The key expectations for this role is for the consultant to;
- Design the high level process for onboarding Power BI and implement it with best practices.
- Design and build Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Design an operating model with Power BI including setting up of permissions and access control e.g. Setting up access controls to the dashboards,
- Design and setup domains, e.g. how dev/production domains setup,
- Designing and managing data models and data flows including how data will be managed in Power BI. The consultant should be able to demonstrate strong data modelling capabilities including designing effective BI data models.
- Ingest data from a variety of data sources and performing required transformations using Power Query and Data Flows.
- Develop calculations in DAX which are accurate and scalable on large datasets.
- Design and develop effective dashboard UX and designs, with utilisation of Power BI navigation features.
- Publish reports via the Power BI service, managing them through distribution of apps and monitoring usage/data refreshes.
Skill Sets
- Must have delivered cloud-based solutions with Microsoft Azure, preferably with integration with On Premise systems
- Experienced with Power Query for data ingestion and transformation.
- Power BI custom visual development.
- Coding experience in SQL or Python
- Power BI custom visual development.
- Preferably Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate
