Java Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Software Engineer to build, maintain, and improve scalable software applications and services. The role involves end-to-end system ownership, production support, software design, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop clean, reusable, and maintainable software using established engineering practices.
• Design and implement scalable solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Own applications and services end-to-end, including deployment, monitoring, performance, and operational support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term improvements.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and evaluate appropriate technology and design options.
• Apply testing, security, data integrity, and quality standards throughout the development lifecycle.
• Continuously improve processes, system performance, reliability, and engineering practices.
• Participate in code reviews and support technical knowledge sharing within the team.
• Communicate effectively with product owners, stakeholders, and team members.
• Participate in an on-call rotation when required.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3-5 years of relevant software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with MySQL, Kafka, and Kubernetes (K8S).
• Experience with end-to-end system ownership and production support.
• Good understanding of software architecture and system design.
• Experience with technical incident management and root-cause analysis.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Experience with continuous quality and process improvement.

Nice to Have

• Kotlin experience.
• Experience with Metadata Management.
• Experience providing technical guidance or leadership.
